Human + Cable = Data = FormA mapping project.
This project was about research and exploration.I chose to explore the process of mapping data.[Data often takes it’s form as words,numbers pictures, lists. The source of the data may be tangible but the resultof the data collecting is most of the time intangible. I wanted to take data it is tangibleform and show it again as another form.Oobleck (corn starch and water), is avery easily manipulated substance. It reacts very well to having frequenciesrun through it.By having the source of frequenciescoming directly from human contact with a cable plugged into a speaker, thisgives a true physical representation of that humans data.This project was very literal. Youcould call it Sculptural Data Visualization. I took data, turned it into soundand then made a sculpture of it.
